How to find new people on Twitter via Google

If you are looking for an alternative to Twitter tools that have emerged in recent months to help you in searching people, then here is a simple solution to find new and interesting people to follow Twitter using our old friend Google.

When you are looking for people on Twitter, there are four basic factors that you can use in your Google search:

 

  1. Name
  2. Profile
  3. Location
  4. Their Tweets

To search for a person with his name for example, say Julian, the following will be your search Query

site:twitter.com intitle:”Julian * on twitter

or if you are not sure about the first and second name

site: twitter.com intitle: “* Julian Asange * on twitter

Then you can search for People based on the words found in their Profile/Biography

site: twitter.com intitle: “on twitter” “organic seo * *”

This will give you a long list of people who have used the word “organic seo” in their Twitter bio. Again, we can just change the search term to suit our own needs.

To search for Twitter users according to their place mentioned in their profile

site: twitter.com intitle: “on twitter” “location Portland”

Google returns a list of Twitter users based in Portland.

It is also possible to combine these search queries. For example, if you want to search for Twitter users according to their location and the words used in their profiles, use this Query

site: twitter.com intitle: “on twitter” “organic seo * *” location Portland

This will return a list of all tweets indexed by Google & containing the word SEO.

Send updates from your mobile to Google plus Circles

Google’s latest Cocktail “Google plus” has got many surprises than we can wish for. Their grand success is mainly because of their ability to integrate their available resources into the Social media wheel. They have made socializing very easy and one such feature is the ability to Share your thoughts through SMS to a Circle or just an Individual.

Is it the same old way of sharing through SMS?  Absolutely NOT!!

Here are a few Xtras that you can do using this SMS feature

First you need to register yourself to enable this feature (This is covered in later on… First lets look at the new features)

1.You can share your updates with a select circle alone
2.Can i share them with Extended circles? Yes you can
3.Can i share some thing to the whole world? Yes (they can even be made visible in Google search!!!)
4.Share your update with just your beloved one.

How to register ?

Once you log in your account Click on the  Settings Icon on your Screen’s top Left Corner

Next step will be adding your Phone Number.

Now you can add your Mobile Number (Unfortunately this facility is as of now available to Indian and U.S users only) . Once you receive your verification code you can verify your ownership over the Number

Final Google+ SMS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now Google plus adds an extra feature of “Security pin” which will be your key to get your Posts published to the Google circles. For example if you set the code to 123 then your SMS should be like

 

123 Hi iam now goin to SMS to my G+ circle

Remember this is an Optional feature.

How to make the update reach your Desired Circle/Circles?

Compose your SMS  from the number you registered in the previous step and send it to 9222222222

What are the other options available ?
To make it visible for a select circle
” Your Text message” followed by “@[circle name]”

To make it visible for extended circles
” Your Text message” followed by “@extended”

To make it public and visible to Search engines:
” Your Text message” followed by “@public”

To share with just a single person
” Your Text message” followed by “@[email address]“

Transfer your iPhone Photos to Google+

Now create a fresh ‘Mobile album’
