Google Plus mobile app comes with a cool feature – you can upload pictures directly to your Google+ profile from your android phone. It goes without saying that this is an excellent feature, but it’s not always convenient for all to upload anything and everything that’s clicked right away onto your Google+ profile. The application has a default setting that needs to be changed so you can upload stuff at your convenience.
You need to know this, because if you are low on battery or running on limited data plan, you don’t want the uploads to eat them up. Here’s how to change the settings:
• Go to settings in the application and uncheck the instant upload box.
• Choose photos and videos via WiFi only, if you want uploading only through WiFi.
• Check the battery uploads option, if you want to save battery and upload only when the phone’s charging.

How to add Google + plugin to WordPress to allow your readers to follow you on Google Plus?

Are you into blogging and want your readers to follow you on Google+? Here’s how to add a plugin to your wordpress blog to allow users to follow you on Google plus:
This plugin comes from the house of SVN Labs and is available on the official WP plugins page. You just need to create the widget on your Google+ profile in order to use it on your blog. The plugin would allow you to be added by users into their circles and follow you on Google+.

You can get the plugin from the wordpress site or from Google webmaster tools. The second one is very light and you just need to put the button on your site so people can click it and add you to their Google+ profiles.

The SVNL Google+ plugin is a bit complicated to operate. You can use another plugin from the Google cards site and this is pretty simple to use and gives the same results as the SVNL plugin. If you wish to give credit to the developers you can respond to the screen prompt so others also know where you go tit from. This is very tidy looking plugin and you just need to feed it with your login ID to let it work properly.

How to Update Facebook From Google+ (Without Using an Extension)

Facebook just keeps getting better and better and it seems Google+ is following in its footsteps. Here’s how you can update your Facebook profile through Google+:
• Each user on Facebook is provided with an unique mail id which can be used to update your profile without accessing it. It seems to work fine with any email address.

Just login to your FB account and go to http://www.facebook.com/mobile/. You’ll find an awkward looking email address in the middle of the page. It ends with @m.facebook.com. Just copy it.

• Now go to your Google plus circles page and create a new circle. Name it as per your wish and add the copied mail address as a new person in the circle. There should be no other contacts in this circle.

If people talk about search engines, the first thing that comes to mind is most definitely Google. It’s a pity that almost after one month of launch of Google+, the search engine giant has failed to incorporate a search feature on the social networking site.

Social networking is essentially a way to update people about information shared immediately; if the search feature is missing, people would have to sift through tons of useless fodder finding the right information. We really hope Google takes up the matter real fast and incorporates a functional search feature on Google+ before people get dead bored and start cancelling memberships!

How to Reply Privately to the Post’s author in Google+

Do you want to post a private reply to public/private post? Here’s how to do it:

All you need to do share this post with its author back again!

Just click on the “share this post button” and share it with the author and whoever else you what to see the reply (in the “who can see this post” box) and add your reply in the body of the post. That’s it!

How to Use Google Plus Security Features?

Google Plus has excellent security features (probably the best) and here’s a guide to use the features to your advantage:

  • Many people do not like sharing private information like name, mail address, gender, education, location and profession etc. with everyone. That’s perfectly understandable, but you might want to share those things with a selected group of people. Google plus allows you to do just that. You need to edit your personal settings for that. You’ll need to click on the aspect you want particular circles to see by clicking on the edit link in your profile. After choosing the aspect which needs to go visible, click on the drop down menu to select the circle that you want your details to be available to.

 

  • If you want to post something and just want a select group of people to see it, jut type the message and select the group you want it to be visible to and you are done! When you see the “limited” tag next to your post you’d know that you’ve successfully restricted your post viewership.
  • If you want to send across an email through Google+, just type your message and then type the email address of the person you want the message to go to. The mail would go away immediately.
  • To share an URL, just click on the time stamp and then copy the URL and post it
  • If you want to see how your profile looks to others, just click the view profile tab.

 

 

How to make text bold, italic, strikethrough and underline in Google+

Google+ is the talk of the town. Everyone seems to interested in becoming a Google plus member. Now, what would people do on social networking sites after they are done “networking”? Well, they would probably try to have some fun out there. Google+ won’t allow you to do complex word processing, but you can bold, italicize and strikethrough your stream messages to give them due weightage. Here’s how:

Bold
Just type your message and prefix and suffix it with a “*” sign to make it bold.

Italicize

To make your text italic, just use the underscore (_) sign before and after the text.

In order to strike through the text just prefix and suffix it with dash (-)
